Central Conservatory of Music Presents the Zhao Ji Percussion Scholarship for the First Time

 

Professor Zhao Ji, a renowned percussion educationist, devoted his entire life to the field of percussion education without reservation. He devoted himself to research and personally wrote the basic tutorial for Marimba, Xylophone, and Xylophone (volumes 1-6), Xylophone, Marimba rhythmic exercises, Marimba collections, Xylophone and Marimba selections from China and abroad, and Snare Drum Chinese works, among other percussion textbooks. He became the scholar with the most Western percussion monographs in China and trained a generation after generation of excellent percussion performers. Before his death, he donated his manuscript fees to his alma mater Central Conservatory of Music and established the Zhao Ji Percussion Scholarship with the Education Foundation. The establishment of the Zhao Ji Percussion Scholarship provided academic support for excellent students majoring in percussion, encouraging them to study hard, strive for excellence, and participate more in domestic and international competitions, broaden their horizons, improve their professional level, and contribute to the development of China's percussion industry.

The 2017–2018 Zhao Ji Percussion Scholarship award ceremony was successfully held at the Central Conservatory of Music. Ren Jingxue, a second-year student at the Conservatory, and Zhang Baiyang, a second-year student at its affiliated middle school, received the honor. Ms. Guo Shulan, former Party Secretary of the Conservatory, and Mr. Zhao Jianping, Chairman of Jianli Group and Professor Zhao Ji’s son, personally presented their certificates.
