The Harbin Percussion Arts Festival was grandly opened at Harbin Concert Hall last night.

Hosted by the People’s Government of Daoli District and co-organized by Harbin Concert Hall (Harbin Symphony Orchestra), the Daoli District Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Jianli (Beijing) International Cultural Media Co., Ltd., the 2019 Harbin Percussion Arts Festival opened on the evening of December 21. The three-day festival invited more than 40 leading percussion artists from across China and used varied performance formats to cultivate more musical talent in Harbin. Guests included Guan Jian, Party Secretary of Harbin Conservatory of Music; Li Geng, Deputy Director of the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism; Bao Yakui, Deputy District Governor of Daoli; Zhou Tuo, President of the Russia–China Education Institute and head of the China resources headquarters of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music; Wang Hongyu, President of the Heilongjiang Musicians’ Association and Dean of the School of Music at Harbin Normal University; Jin Jiguang, President of the Percussion Society of the Chinese Musicians’ Association; Huang Dawei, Director of Art Development and External Liaison at the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism; Qu Bo, General Manager of Harbin Concert Hall and President of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra; Taiwanese percussionist and educator Zhou Youhong; Fang Xiaosu, Deputy Director of the Hubei Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, President of its Symphony Orchestra, and Director of its Creative Studio; Wang Hao, Executive Deputy Head of the Daoli District Party Committee Publicity Department; Sun Yuechun, Director of the Daoli District Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Yang Yao, Professor of Percussion at the PLA Academy of Arts; Tan Nan, Principal Percussionist of the China Film Orchestra; the Director of Arts Practice at the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School; Li Xiaodong, Vice President of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra; and Zhao Jianping, General Manager of Beijing Jianli Huihuang Trading Group Co., Ltd.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Bao Yaqi, Deputy District Governor of Daoli District People's Government, and Mr. Jin Jiguang, President of the Percussion Music Society of the China Federation of Music, took the stage to deliver speeches to wish the Harbin Percussion Music Festival a successful conclusion. Finally, Mr. Jin Jiguang rang the gong to open the ceremony. This Gong is a custom-made Gong for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, inheriting the great revolutionary spirit of the Chinese nation.
On the evening of the 21st, the "Homeland Love - Jianli Percussion Ensemble Concert" brought by Jianli Percussion Ensemble as the opening performance officially kicked off the "2019 Harbin Percussion Arts Festival".Mozart's Symphony No. 40, "Gotan", "To Alice", "Dance of the Sword" ... and other 7 classic pieces are performed brilliantly, and each piece can become a reason to fall in love with the concert hall and percussion music.Mr. Zhao Jianping, the founder of Jianli Percussion Ensemble, was born in Harbin, and his musical enlightenment also began in Harbin.This time, I will take Jianli Percussion Ensemble on a special trip to enjoy this wonderful percussion art journey with the people of my hometown.The concert was very lively. The audience applauded and cheered to the rhythm. After the concert, they didn't want to leave for a long time and shouted for another song one after another. Jianli Percussion Ensemble couldn't resist the enthusiasm of the audience and continued to play two songs for the audience.
